Identify Customer Persona
- Always Remember your customer is not searching what you sell
- Identify a personality- e.g. you own a party planning business; one of your customers is about to become a bride- you’ve identified a personality now
- Now you know the customer from the customer’s lens
Find the topic your customer cares about
- Go to pages where your customer tends to hangout- e.g. Pinterest, reddit, YouTube, Blogs
- Focus on the topic important to them
- Keep researching till you have a good amount of most searched topics- at least 5 topics
Keyword Idea Generation
- Go to Google and type your topic- don’t press enter and see what Google suggests- try putting some space before the searched topic, you will find different keyword options there
- Use Quora
- Reddit- search for your topic there in the search bar- keep an eye on the words that show up again and again
- Search your topic on Google- go to the bottom of the page and you will find keyword ideas from there
- Wikipedia: search your topic there and look at the links used there and the table of contents
Analyze each keyword’s commercial intent:
- the likeliness of someone searching for a keyword buys your product.
- Go to Google’s Keyword Planner and type in your potential keyword
- Look at the suggested bid column- suggests you how much advertisers are paying for a single click of this keyword- higher the bid, the valuable the keyword is- the more the AdWords ads (green Ad square), the more chances are there to attract advertisers
